Therapy is an important investment in yourself. Health insurance companies will agree to pay for services that they deem “medically necessary.” This means that in order to bill your insurance for therapy, Dr. Heidel is required to make a clinical diagnosis. A diagnosis is a name for a constellation of signs and symptoms that are causing a person distress and/or problems in their daily life. There are a variety of reasons why some may not wish to inform their insurance that they are seeing a psychologist.
